The Banker

Spirited Places

Almost a decade ago I worked in downtown Burlington, VT and would have to visit the Citizens bank to make a deposit a few days a week. The local branch happens to be inside a historic Bank building built in 1900. The interior has been kept largely original, even retaining the antique vaults on display.

I would stare interestedly at those intricate doors while the tellers worked, and I would see a man leaning against the right most one whenever I was there. He had the typical accountants uniform from the era of the tens and 20s; green visor, waistcoat with pocket watch, sleeve garters, etc. He usually was smiling at me through a cigar held between his teeth. He never really communicated anything to me, other than conveying a sense of ownership; like that was HIS place. He is an example of what I like to call energy imprints or place memories. They sort of replay doing the things they did the most in life and give off a feeling; “I own this place”, “I was happy here”, “I planted these gardens”, etc. They are more subtle and less intense than spirits who are fully on this plane connecting and talking to me with longer, more specific messages. This banker seemed very friendly and would be there out of the corner of my eye every time I went. My sketch doesn’t quite do him justice, he really was more mischievous than sinister looking, but when completed it felt like I was looking at an old friend. Cheers to him…

Spirited Places

I am acutely clairvoyant, seeing and communicating with spirits in my waking hours. I transmute all these perceptions into sketches so you can see what I see.
